EVgo has significantly accelerated its charging network improvement efforts through its "ReNew" program, launched in January. The initiative focuses on quickly identifying and fixing problematic chargers across its network.

In just the first six months of 2023, EVgo has already upgraded, replaced, or decommissioned 120 charging stalls—matching what it accomplished in the first nine months of 2022. This increased pace demonstrates the company's commitment to addressing reliability concerns.

Key improvements include:

  • 50% reduction in station repair times over the past year
  • New stations featuring minimum of four charging stalls
  • Multiple locations under construction with six or more stalls

These enhancements aim to address common complaints about EV charging infrastructure, including broken chargers and long wait times. EVgo's systematic approach to maintenance and expansion suggests a stronger focus on customer experience and service reliability.

The company's accelerated improvement timeline reflects the growing demand for reliable EV charging infrastructure and the need to maintain high-functioning charging networks as electric vehicle adoption continues to rise.
