Force Delivers Record-Breaking 3.643s Run for No. 1 Spot at NHRA Finals in Pomona

Brittany Force powered to the quickest Top Fuel run of the 2024 season, qualifying No. 1 with an impressive 3.643-second pass at 336.65 mph during the NHRA Finals at Pomona Dragstrip.

The Monster Energy/Chevrolet dragster driver secured her sixth No. 1 qualifier of the season, marking her fourth top spot in the past five races. Force remains 108 points behind the championship leader, maintaining an outside chance at the title.

Steve Torrence qualified second with a 3.644-second run at 334.90 mph, while defending world champion Doug Kalitta took third, running 3.650 at 334.98 mph. Points leader Justin Ashley will face Antron Brown in a crucial first-round matchup, with only 46 points separating them.

In Funny Car, Austin Prock set a track record with a 3.804-second pass at 334.57 mph, securing his 15th No. 1 qualifier of 2024 – the most in Funny Car history. This run also stands as the fourth-quickest in Funny Car history.

Greg Anderson topped Pro Stock qualifying with a 6.505-second run at 211.20 mph in his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro. Currently 48 points behind leader Aaron Stanfield, Anderson remains in championship contention heading into Sunday's eliminations.

Matt Smith led Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifying with a 6.721-second pass at 202.64 mph on his Denso Auto Parts/Matt Smith Racing Buell. While Smith secured the No. 1 spot, he trails points leader Gaige Herrera by 119 points in the championship chase.

Eliminations begin Sunday at 11 a.m. PT at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, with championships on the line in all four professional categories.
