Ford Revamps GTD PRO Lineup, Retains Rockenfeller for 2025 IMSA Campaign
Ford Multimatic Motorsports has announced significant changes to its driver lineup for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, with Mike Rockenfeller being the sole returning driver from the 2024 full-season roster.
Mustang GT3 racing at Petit LeMans
The new lineup features Ford factory drivers Christopher Mies and Frederic Vervisch in the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3, while Multimatic driver Seb Priaulx joins Rockenfeller in the No. 65. Priaulx, who secured two victories with AO Racing in GTD PRO during 2024, replaces Harry Tincknell.
For endurance races, WEC drivers Dennis Olsen will partner with Mies and Vervisch, while Ben Barker will join Rockenfeller and Priaulx.
Ford team tests car at Daytona
Notable departures include Joey Hand and Dirk Muller, who were instrumental in developing the Mustang GT3 and previously secured a Le Mans victory for Ford in 2016. Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, acknowledged their contributions while emphasizing the need for evolution to drive success forward.
The Mustang GT3 showed increasing competitiveness throughout its debut season, with the No. 64 securing multiple podium finishes with Rockenfeller and Tincknell. The team is currently participating in the IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, preparing for their sophomore season with renewed optimism and an enhanced driver lineup.
The team aims to build on their late-2024 momentum and start the 2025 season strong at the Daytona International Speedway, leveraging their experienced new driver combinations and refined vehicle development.
