A mid-session red flag, caused by Alex Albon's Williams fuel system failure near the Sphere, disrupted qualifying simulation runs for several teams, particularly affecting Red Bull Racing's program.

The session, conducted in cool evening conditions with track temperatures around 55°F, saw drivers achieving better times on their second flying laps once tires reached optimal temperature.
