Jack Beckman Powers to Provisional Top Spot Before Rain Halts NHRA Finals Qualifying
Racing was disrupted by rain during the first qualifying session at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at Pomona Dragstrip, with only Funny Car completing its full session and Top Fuel partially running before the weather intervened.
Blue Chevrolet Camaro racing on track
Jack Beckman secured the provisional No. 1 spot in Funny Car with an impressive run of 3.828 seconds at 334.82mph in his PEAK Chevrolet Camaro SS. His John Force Racing teammate Austin Prock is set to officially claim the world championship on Saturday.
In Top Fuel, Shawn Reed led the partial field with a 3.712-second run at 320.36mph in his GESi dragster, positioning himself for what could be his first career No. 1 qualifier.
Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle classes were unable to make any runs on Friday. Qualifying will continue Saturday at 11:30am PT with two sessions scheduled for all categories.
Friday ticket holders have the option to apply their ticket credit toward Saturday or Sunday admission, or toward a ticket for the 2025 In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals.
