A notable moment of sportsmanship occurred when Modified champion Jack Miller gifted his Dave Lape Memorial trophy to Anthony Cardamone, who initially won the race but was disqualified due to weight requirements. Cardamone, who considers Dave Lape his idol and mentor, had been devastated by the disqualification.
