The Gobbler: Northeast's Legendary Season-Ending Race Returns to Accord Speedway
"The Gobbler" at Accord Speedway represents the Northeast's final dirt track racing event of the season. Since 2013, this November tradition has brought together racing enthusiasts for one last competitive showcase before winter sets in.
The event originated from a 2002 Thanksgiving weekend race called "The Turkey Chase 100," conceived by track promoter Gary Palmer and Brett Deyo. Despite challenging weather conditions, including occasional snow removal from grandstands, the event proved successful and evolved into today's Gobbler.

Accord Speedway's history dates to the 1950s, beginning as a family farm before transforming into a Go-Kart track. Official racing began in 1962, with the Palmer family taking ownership in 2000 and developing it into a premier racing facility in the Rondout Valley.
