The test featured 31 participants across all four IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship classes on the 3.56-mile road course. Testing included 10 hours of track time spread across three sessions, including two hours of night running.
Key highlights:
- Porsche Penske Motorsport's No. 6 Porsche 963 completed the most laps (487)
- BMW M Team RLL showed competitive pace despite lower mileage
- Lamborghini Iron Lynx SC63 demonstrated strong performance, leading Friday morning's session
- Ford Mustang GT3 continued its progress with Dennis Olsen leading GTD PRO class (1m48.177s)
- Malthe Jakobsen set the fastest LMP2 class lap at 1m38.635s
Yelloly, new to MSR Acura this year after racing for BMW M Team RLL, emphasized the test's focus on preparation and understanding the car's characteristics rather than pure speed. "Everything has gone smoothly," he noted, highlighting the importance of learning traffic management and car behavior ahead of January's Rolex 24.
The test continues Sunday with two three-hour sessions exclusively for GTD and GTD PRO classes, marking the final IMSA-sanctioned testing at Daytona for this period.
