2025 IndyCar Season Gets New Advanced Cosworth Steering Wheels

The NTT IndyCar Series will introduce new Cosworth Mk 3 steering wheels in 2025, with eight of eleven full-time teams already adopting the upgraded technology.

Key improvements in the Mk 3 model include:

  • Wider frame diameter (increased from 284mm to 310mm)
  • Larger data display screens
  • More ergonomically placed buttons and rotary knobs
  • Enhanced control features for new energy recovery systems

The new steering wheels, priced at approximately $19,000 each, will be supplied with Max Papis Innovations' quick-disconnect mechanism. Teams that have ordered the Mk 3 include:

  • AJ Foyt Racing
  • Arrow McLaren
  • Chip Ganassi Racing
  • Ed Carpenter Racing
  • Juncos Hollinger Racing
  • PREMA Racing
  • Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing
  • Team Penske
