Six significant driving law changes are coming to the UK this March. Here's what motorists need to know:

New Number Plates The DVLA is introducing new '25' registration plates for vehicles registered until September. This often creates opportunities for both new car purchases and discounts on previous plate models.
HMRC Fuel Rate Updates:
- Petrol vehicles (1.4-2.0L): Increased from 14p to 15p per mile
- Diesel engines (up to 1.6L): 1p per mile increase
- Other engine sizes remain unchanged
Ukrainian Driving Licence Extension: Ukrainian licence holders can now drive in the UK for up to 54 months, extended from the previous 36-month limit. This applies to mopeds, motorbikes, and cars.
AI Road Safety Cameras: The trial period for AI cameras detecting phone use and seatbelt violations ends this month. Ten police forces participated, with potential nationwide implementation being considered.
Electric Vehicle Funding: New £120m funding available for electric van purchases:
- Small vans (up to 2.5 tonnes): £2,500 grant
- Large vans (up to 4.25 tonnes): £5,000 grant
