Berkeley's First Freedom Station with Fast DC Charger Opens at Whole Foods
NRG eVgo has installed its first Freedom Station in Berkeley, California at the Whole Foods located at 3000 Telegraph Avenue. The charging station features both a DC fast charger with CHAdeMO plug and a Level 2 AC charging terminal.
Customers can access the charging station using either a credit card or by subscribing to NRG eVgo's charging plans.
Berkeley has seen significant growth in electric vehicle adoption, with approximately 350 registered EVs in the city. Notably, 70% of these registrations occurred within a six-month period, demonstrating rapid EV adoption in the area.
The new Freedom Station helps meet the growing charging infrastructure needs of Berkeley's expanding EV community while allowing drivers to charge their vehicles while shopping at Whole Foods.
