The 39th annual Chili Bowl Nationals championship A-Feature will return to its original 40-lap format, announced co-founder and promoter Emmett Hahn. This change aims to improve racing conditions and enhance the spectator experience at the prestigious indoor dirt track event.

The previous 55-lap format, implemented in 2012 to honor the late Donnie Ray Crawford, will now be featured in the Hyper Racing Non-Wing Outlaw feature at the Smiley's Racing Products Tulsa Shootout. This change ensures Crawford's legacy continues while optimizing the main event's racing format.

The 39th Chili Bowl Nationals is scheduled for January 13-18, 2025, at the SageNet Center at Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 40th Tulsa Shootout precedes it, running from December 30, 2024, through January 4, 2025, at the same venue.

Competitors can register for:

  • Tulsa Shootout: Online registration open until December 13
  • Chili Bowl Nationals: Via email at [email protected] or phone (918) 838-3777

The changes reflect organizers' commitment to providing optimal racing conditions while preserving the event's rich history and traditions. Matt Ward, director of operations for both events, emphasized the importance of continuing to honor Crawford's memory while evolving the competition format.
