Cracker Barrel partners with NRG Energy to install high-powered EV charging stations at four Dallas/Fort Worth locations, expanding convenient charging options for electric vehicle drivers.

The new eVgo Freedom Station sites feature two charging options:

  • DC Fast charger: Delivers 30 miles of range in 10 minutes
  • Level 2 charger: Provides up to 25 miles of range per hour

The charging stations are available 24/7 for eVgo network subscribers at these locations:

  • Arlington: 1251 North Watson Road
  • Burleson: 13301 South Freeway
  • DeSoto: 1421 N. Interstate 35E
  • Mesquite: 5304 North Galloway Avenue

"Cracker Barrel's proximity to interstate highways adds a reassuring layer of confidence as well as a high level of convenience for EV drivers," says Sandra B. Cochran, Cracker Barrel President and CEO. The installation allows EV drivers to charge their vehicles in roughly the same time it takes to enjoy a meal.

This initiative is part of NRG's larger plan to install 70 Freedom Station sites in Dallas/Fort Worth and 50 in Houston. The strategic placement of charging stations along interstate locations helps address range anxiety while providing essential infrastructure for EV drivers.

The partnership aligns with Cracker Barrel's tradition of serving travelers, while contributing to the national effort for sustainable transportation. These stations create vital links for EV drivers traveling between eVgo cities and help develop a well-connected charging infrastructure.

Cracker Barrel, established in 1969, operates 615 locations across 42 states, offering home-style dining and retail shopping. The restaurants are open seven days a week, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

NRG Energy, a Fortune 500 company, manages one of America's largest power generation portfolios, serving nearly 1.9 million customers through its retail businesses and working toward advancing clean energy solutions in the United States.
