Emerson Axsom Dominates Chili Bowl York Plumbing Night Victory

Emerson Axsom claimed victory during Wednesday's York Plumbing Qualifying Night at the 39th annual Chili Bowl Nationals, becoming the second first-time winner in consecutive nights. The Indiana native took the lead on Lap 4 and maintained it throughout the race.

After multiple restart attempts, Axsom executed a decisive move from the right of the front row, using the top line to overtake polesitter Daison Pursley. The victory marks the 37th career win for car owner Keith Kunz at the SageNet Center during Chili Bowl competition.

Pursley finished second, 0.343 seconds behind Axsom, followed by Corey Day, who advanced from eighth to third. Tim Buckwalter and Kale Drake rounded out the top five, with Drake improving from ninth position.

The event drew 73 drivers, bringing the total competing entries to 213. Racing continues on Thursday, January 16, 2025, with Hasty-Bake Qualifying Night starting at 4:00 P.M. (CT). General Admission tickets, available at the event, are priced at $60 per weekday and $75 on Saturday, including pit access.
