Since joining ASD Motorsports in May 2022 to pilot the No.74X Barry Wright Race Cars machine, Dotson has secured four Feature wins and four top-10 finishes with World of Outlaws at prestigious venues including Volusia Speedway Park and The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Dotson's background includes impressive achievements in DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, with victories at the 2022 World Short Track Championship, Emil & Dale Reutimann Memorial, and three Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals Golden Gator trophies in 2023.
His transition from Modifieds to Late Models follows the path of successful drivers like Nick Hoffman and Ryan Gustin. Dotson notes that while there are differences in tires and aerodynamics, consistent racing experience is key to improvement.
Looking ahead to the 57-race season, Dotson's strategy focuses on:
- Taking each race individually, starting with Volusia
- Aiming for consistent front-running performances
- Building points gradually throughout the season
- Developing skills with the high-powered Late Models
His rookie campaign begins at Volusia Speedway Park during DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals, January 22-25, 2025, where he'll start his quest for the Rookie of the Year title.
