EVgo has launched a new fast-charging reservation system in response to growing customer demand for more reliable charging experiences. This initiative allows EV drivers to secure charging slots in advance, reducing wait times and improving charging station accessibility.

The reservation system lets users book 30-minute charging sessions up to two weeks ahead, with fees ranging from $2.99 to $6.99 depending on location and timing. Drivers can cancel reservations up to 15 minutes before their scheduled time without penalty.

EVgo's move follows similar features already implemented by competitors like ChargePoint, though EVgo's approach focuses specifically on DC fast charging stations. The company developed this system based on extensive customer feedback highlighting the need for guaranteed charging access, particularly during peak travel periods.
