Ferrari Dominates Qatar WEC Race with Historic 1-2-3 Finish
Ferrari dominated the 2025 Qatar 1812Km with a historic 1-2-3 finish, marking their first non-Le Mans victory for the factory team in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The No. 50 Ferrari driven by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina secured pole position, fastest lap, and led their teammates across the finish line. This achievement marks Ferrari's first 1-2-3 overall finish in a major sports car race since the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours.
Ferrari's success came after extensive winter testing at the Qatar circuit, where they focused on tire management and strategy. Team manager Batti Pregliasco credited their improved performance to lessons learned from previous races and better understanding of tire compounds.
The Italian manufacturer's dominance was further highlighted by their competitors' struggles. Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA and BMW M Team WRT showed promising pace but were hampered by incidents and penalties. Porsche Penske Motorsport, despite their previous year's success, lacked speed, while Toyota managed only fifth and sixth places.
Key factors in Ferrari's victory:
- Superior single lap and long-run pace
- Effective tire management strategy
- Successful team coordination between three cars
- Strong reliability across all entries
Looking ahead to Imola, Ferrari's home event, questions remain about whether this dominance will continue. The FIA's updated Balance of Performance regulations for 2025 now consider more comprehensive lap time data and tire wear, which could affect future race outcomes.
The new scoring system, which counts points from two cars per manufacturer rather than just the highest finisher, puts additional emphasis on consistency and reliability across team entries.
