Ferrari Legal Victory Delays Cardile's Move to Aston Martin Until July
Ferrari has won a legal battle preventing former technical director Enrico Cardile from joining Aston Martin until July 18th, 2025. The Court of Modena ruled in Ferrari's favor, finding that Cardile had violated his non-compete agreement.

The ruling comes after Ferrari announced Cardile's departure from his role as technical director (chassis area) in July 2024. Aston Martin had subsequently announced his appointment as chief technical officer for 2025.
The Court determined that allowing Cardile to join Aston Martin earlier would give the team an unfair competitive advantage and cause irreparable harm to Ferrari. This delay will significantly impact Aston Martin's 2026 regulation preparations, which teams began working on in January.
Aston Martin has responded through a spokesperson, stating this is a matter between Cardile and Ferrari's legal representatives in Italy, with further announcements to come. The team could still negotiate with Ferrari to advance Cardile's start date, though previous attempts have been unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, Aston Martin has welcomed Adrian Newey, who started his role with the team on Monday after leaving Red Bull.
