This achievement marks significant growth since IMSA began streaming WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races on YouTube in 2024. Key viewership statistics include:

  • 72,000 peak concurrent viewers during the race
  • Over 2 million live views by Sunday morning
  • Nearly 730,000 channel subscribers
  • 20,000 viewers waiting before race start

The channel's growth started with the 2024 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which attracted 21,000 peak concurrent views and 505,000 total live views. In just 12 months, the subscriber count has nearly tripled from 250,000 to approaching 730,000.

Contributing factors to this success include:

  • Free international streaming availability
  • Popular "Win the Weekend" docuseries (15+ million views)
  • Expanded global accessibility (available in France, Germany, UK, Asia, Australia)

While the YouTube stream serves international viewers, domestic coverage continues through NBC and Peacock as part of their extended partnership. IMSA President John Doonan highlighted this digital expansion as a key strategy for growing the sport's global audience.

The race continues to stream on the official IMSA YouTube channel until its conclusion, complementing traditional broadcast coverage in the United States.
