Justin Haley's partnership with veteran crew chief Rodney Childers marks a significant transformation in his NASCAR Cup Series career. The No. 7 Spire Motorsports team has undergone extensive modifications to enhance driver comfort and performance.

Childers discovered that Haley's previous car setup needed substantial improvements. The team implemented comprehensive changes, including:

• New seats from Hendrick
• Repositioned safety belts
• New seat rails and headrests
• Modified floorboard and pedal faces
• Upgraded steering column mounts

"I've quickly realized what Cup racing is through Rodney and Cheddar, and nothing is ever good enough for them," Haley noted, acknowledging the team's meticulous attention to detail.

Childers, who won 37 races and the 2014 championship with Kevin Harvick at Stewart-Haas Racing, brings his championship-winning expertise to Spire Motorsports. The partnership represents a significant upgrade for Haley, who previously raced with Kaulig Racing and Rick Ware Racing.

The team's focus on precision extends beyond car setup. "We spent like three days on a pit sign. I didn't know there were so many kinds of LED lights," Haley revealed, highlighting the team's commitment to excellence in every aspect.

Spire Motorsports has elevated its expectations, actively pursuing wins and playoff contention. For Haley, who won the team's first race at Daytona in 2019, the new partnership allows him to focus solely on driving while the crew handles everything else.

"The expectation is to win throughout the company," Haley stated, expressing confidence in the team's direction under Childers' leadership.
