Katherine Legge is pursuing expanded opportunities in NASCAR, starting with her ARCA Menards Series debut at Daytona International Speedway on February 15 with Sigma Performance Services (SPS). While she has five previous NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, this will mark her first time competing on Daytona's oval.

As a versatile motorsports veteran, Legge has achieved notable milestones, including becoming the first woman to win a major North American open-wheel race (2005 Toyota Atlantic at Long Beach) and setting the record as the fastest woman qualifier in Indianapolis 500 history in 2023.

Legge expresses enthusiasm about stock car racing, describing her recent Daytona test as "one of the best days" she's had. During the test, her team placed among the top 15 fastest out of 70 participating teams.

Her NASCAR aspirations include competing in prestigious events like the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600. However, she acknowledges the need to progress through NASCAR's licensing system, which requires drivers to prove themselves at different levels and track types.

Andy Lally, an experienced NASCAR driver, has been instrumental in helping Legge prepare, particularly during her recent seat fitting in Charlotte. The collaboration with her new team has been notably positive, with Legge praising their organization and professionalism.

Looking ahead, Legge aims to expand her NASCAR involvement while continuing her involvement in IndyCar and sports car racing. She views each opportunity as a chance to improve her skills and build her racing resume, expressing both excitement and nervous anticipation about her upcoming ARCA debut at Daytona.
