Landon Brooks Claims Stunning Victory on Night 2 of Chili Bowl

In a surprising turn of events at the Chili Bowl Nationals' second preliminary night, California's Landon Brooks secured his first victory at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, marking the 54th different driver to win a preliminary night A-Feature in the event's history. The win also represents Matt Wood Racing's first triumph inside the SageNet Center.

Starting from seventh position, Brooks executed a strategic race, initially advancing to fourth before adjusting his line mid-race. His winning move came in the final laps, overtaking Brenham Crouch on lap 28. Despite Crouch briefly reclaiming the lead on lap 29, Brooks sealed the victory with a decisive pass in turns 1-2 on the final lap, winning by 0.504 seconds.

The podium was completed by Brenham Crouch in second and Buddy Kofoid in third, with the latter mounting an impressive charge from 18th position after winning the B-Feature. Corbin Rueschenberg and Gunnar Setser rounded out the top five.

The event saw 74 drivers compete, bringing the total entry count to 140. Racing continues with York Plumbing Qualifying Night, featuring hot laps at 4:00 P.M. followed by racing at 5:00 P.M. (CT).
