
Lucas Oil Championship Battle Heats Up This Weekend at Atomic
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship chase continues with upcoming races at Atomic Speedway ($15,000 to win) on March 21 and Brownstown Speedway ($25,000 to win) on March 22.

The 2025 season features over $800,000 in additional A-Main purse money compared to 2024. The National Champion will receive a record $250,000 from an increased season-long points fund of over $1.3 million.
The championship format includes four bonus rounds throughout the season:
- Sunoco Road to Wheatland (May 24, Lucas Oil Speedway) - $16,000 total
- Summit Racing Equipment Super Twelve (July 12, Lucas Oil Speedway) - $16,000 total
- UNOH Great Eight (August 23, Port Royal Speedway) - $18,000 total
- Big River Steel Big Four (September 20, Knoxville Raceway) - $16,000 total
The Big Four Championship Events conclude the season:
- September 26-27: Brownstown Speedway ($10,000/$50,000)
- October 3-4: Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway ($10,000/$50,000)
- October 17-18: Eldora Speedway, Dirt Track World Championship ($100,000)
2025 Point Fund Distribution:
- 1st: $250,000
- 2nd: $200,000
- 3rd: $150,000
- 4th: $125,000
- 5th: $100,000
- 6th-15th: Ranging from $80,000 to $20,000
Total Championship Package:
- Points Fund: $1,265,000
- Chase Bonuses: $66,000
- Total: $1,331,000 ($281,000 increase from previous year)
Only feature wins will earn bonus points during the season. Drivers remain eligible for additional bonuses after each round as the season progresses.
