Maini Tops Formula E Rookie Practice Session in Jeddah

Kush Maini topped the Formula E Rookie Free Practice session at the Jeddah Corniche circuit, posting a best time of 1m17.184s in the final minutes of the 40-minute session.

Nissan's Gabriele Mini finished second, 0.304s behind Maini, while Mikkel Jensen secured third place for Cupra Kiro, just 0.073s further back. Maserati MSG Racing's Theo Pourchaire and DS Penske's Daniil Kvyat completed the top five.

Notable incidents included a collision between Envision Racing's Zak O'Sullivan (P6) and Jaguar TCS Racing's Jamie Chadwick (P9) at Turn 8 during their final fast laps, resulting in minor front-end damage to both cars.

  • P8: Jak Crawford (Andretti)
  • P10: Tatiana Calderon (Lola Yamaha Abt)
  • P11: Alex Dunne (NEOM McLaren)

Teams utilized the session to test the new Pit Boost feature, which will debut in the first race. Practice included fast-charging stops, penalty procedures, and car repairs such as front wing changes. Jaguar notably performed a front wing change on Chadwick's car mid-session after a Pit Boost practice.
