January 2025 marks 20 years of the No. 8 Racing Car Project, an innovative educational program at École Secondaire Catholique de Plantagenet. The initiative combines hands-on experience with technical theory, successfully bridging classroom learning with practical application since its inception in 1990.

The program's success led to creating one of the Northeast's premier Pro-Stock race teams. Their annual fundraising spaghetti dinner and silent auction has become a community staple, with this year's final event already sold out. While the program's future remains uncertain, LaLonde hopes another teacher will continue his legacy. He remains open to providing guidance and support to ensure its continuation.
Despite running an older car, LaLonde's team remains highly competitive and focused on winning. After retirement next spring, Marc and Josee Lalonde plan to travel and maintain a selective involvement in racing, marking the end of their full-time racing career at Cornwall Speedway.
