Matt Stangle is set to embark on his rookie season with the Super DIRTcar Series in 2025, transitioning from racing weekly at New Jersey tracks to competing in Big Block Modified racing at a national level.

Despite being new to full-time Series competition, Stangle has already shown promise, nearly winning the 2023 championship opener at Bridgeport Motorsports Park, finishing just 0.056 seconds behind Mat Williamson. His experience at tracks like New Egypt Speedway, Georgetown Speedway, and Big Diamond Speedway gives him confidence for those venues, though many Series tracks will be new territory.

Stangle will begin his 2025 campaign at the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, February 12-15. This marks his sixth consecutive year competing at the "World's Fastest Half Mile," where he achieved his best finish of ninth in 2022.

"I only race Big Blocks maybe five times a year," Stangle explains. "Everything by us is totally different than what the [Super DIRTcar Series] usually does. So, it's going to be a big change."

To help navigate his rookie season, Stangle will receive guidance from five-time Series winner Anthony Perrego. "Anthony's a good friend of ours," Stangle says. "He told me, don't worry, whatever I need he's going to help me out. We're going to pit near each other, and he's going to help me and give me advice."

The championship season officially begins at New Egypt Speedway on March 29, where Stangle will have another opportunity to compete on familiar ground while pursuing his rookie campaign goals.
