McDowell's tenure with Front Row began in 2018, piloting the No. 34 Love's Ford Mustang. During their time together, the team achieved several milestones, including:

  • Winning the 2021 Daytona 500 (first for both driver and team)
  • Securing a victory at the 2023 Indianapolis road course
  • Reaching a career-high 15th place in the 2023 championship standings
  • Achieving 12 top-10 finishes in 2022

The transition process involves:

  • Returning company equipment (tablets, laptops, Ford program vehicle)
  • Collecting personal items (racing seats, locker contents, memorabilia)
  • Updating marketing materials with partners like Love's
  • Managing ongoing fan mail forwarding

Despite the separation, the relationship remains amicable. McDowell will attend the organization's Christmas celebration for a final address to the team. As he stated, "It's been an amazing journey, and even though this chapter is coming to an end, this is family to me."

Front Row's general manager Jerry Freeze acknowledges McDowell's impact: "He really helped raise the bar at Front Row across the board and really challenged us to improve our processes and get better people when they were available."
