MSR and Acura Reunite: A Stronger Return to IMSA Racing in 2025
Meyer Shank Racing returns to IMSA partnership with Acura, fielding two GTP class ARX-06s after a one-year hiatus. The reunion was initiated by HRC US president David Salters, marking a significant comeback for the Ohio-based team.
The team now features an expanded driver lineup combining experienced returners with new talent:
- Returning drivers: Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist
- New additions: Renger van der Zande (from Cadillac) and Nick Yelloly (from BMW Team RLL)
- Rolex 24 special roster: Felix Rosenqvist, Kakunoshin Ohta, Alex Palou, and Scott Dixon

Team owner Mike Shank has retained nearly all of their 2023 engineering staff, with only one departure from a team of 23. The program features a unique engineering structure, with MSR leading one car and HRC leading the other.
The ARX-06 remains mechanically unchanged, though software updates have been implemented. This consistency should benefit the team's early-season performance. Despite the year-long break, expectations remain high, with the team targeting podium finishes from the outset.
"We expect to come back on the podium," states Shank. "Maybe we don't win, but there's no reason we shouldn't be challenging for the podium places."
The team has already shown promise during testing at the Roar Before the 24, with both cars completing significant mileage in preparation for their competitive return.
