NASCAR Reveals Full Format Details for Historic Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray
Racing returns to historic Bowman Gray Stadium as NASCAR unveils the format for the 2024 Cook Out Clash exhibition event, marking the Cup Series' first appearance at the venue since 1971.

The event format includes multiple stages to determine the 23-driver field for the main event:
Heat Races:
- 4 heat races of 25 laps each (green flag laps only)
- Practice speeds determine heat race lineups
- Top 5 finishers from each heat advance
- No overtime periods
Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ):
- 75 laps (green flag laps only)
- Features drivers who didn't advance through heats
- Top 2 finishers advance to main event
- No overtime option
The Clash Main Event:
- 200 laps with 23 drivers
- Green flag laps only
- Must finish under green
- Mandatory break at lap 100
- Final spot reserved for highest 2024 points finisher not yet qualified

- Saturday, Feb. 1: Practice/qualifying and heat races (Fox Sports 1)
- Sunday, Feb. 2: LCQ and The Clash
This event follows Denny Hamlin's victory at the 2024 Clash at the L.A. Coliseum, which concluded its three-year West Coast run.
