Nissan and EVgo Expand US Fast-Charging Network with 200 New DC Chargers
The planned 200 DC fast chargers will be placed strategically along high-traffic routes across the U.S., focusing on areas where demand for EV charging is rising. All units will feature CHAdeMO and CCS connectors, supporting most modern electric vehicles.
This expansion marks another significant collaboration between Nissan and EVgo, who have previously partnered to install over 2,000 fast chargers nationwide since 2010. The new units will deliver up to 100kW of charging power.
The initiative primarily aims to serve the growing base of Nissan LEAF owners, including those with the new LEAF e+ model, which features a larger 62 kWh battery and extended range. However, the chargers will be accessible to all EV drivers through EVgo's charging network.
These additions come at a crucial time as EV adoption continues to accelerate in the United States. The new stations will be installed in select metropolitan areas with high electric vehicle concentrations, helping reduce range anxiety and support longer-distance travel.
EVgo will handle the installation and maintenance of the new charging stations, which are expected to be operational by the end of next year. Users can locate these chargers through the EVgo mobile app or their vehicle's navigation system.
