Nissan's EV Director Brendan Jones Departs to Lead NRG EVgo's Fast Charging Network
After more than 20 years with Nissan, Brendan Jones has transitioned to NRG EVgo, where he will spearhead the company's DC fast charger infrastructure expansion. Jones previously served as Director of Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure Deployment at Nissan North America.
During his tenure at Nissan, Jones played a crucial role in achieving significant EV milestones, including the sale of over 30,000 LEAF vehicles in the US market in the previous year. His move to NRG EVgo reflects his commitment to advancing EV adoption through enhanced charging infrastructure.
Jones emphasizes that building a premier national DC fast charging network is the next critical step for EV advancement. This infrastructure will support all electric vehicle manufacturers, not just a single brand, making it a crucial component for widespread EV adoption.
As the electric vehicle market continues to expand with more diverse options, traditional barriers to EV adoption are diminishing. Jones notes that consumer concerns about range and aesthetics are becoming less prevalent, highlighting the increasing importance of a robust and reliable charging network as the final piece in accelerating EV adoption.
