The young Australian driver, buoyed by McLaren's recent success against Ferrari and teammate Lando Norris's second-place finish behind Max Verstappen, sees significant potential for growth both personally and for the team.

"I think 2024 has been a great improvement personally. For the team, it has been a massive step forward," Piastri told SiriusXM. "I know I've still got some room to go and things to improve, but I've made a lot of big steps this year."

The achievement of securing a constructors' championship in just his second Formula 1 season exceeded Piastri's expectations. He attributes this success to extensive development work over the past two years, expressing pride in being part of a world championship-winning team at this early stage of his career.

Piastri remains focused on personal improvement during the off-season, recognizing the opportunity to build on McLaren's momentum. "I really feel like this could be the start of something special. So I'll make sure I'm ready for the challenge," he emphasized.
