In response to Toto Wolff labeling him a "yapping little terrier," Red Bull's Christian Horner responded with characteristic humor at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

"I love terriers — I've had four of them!" Horner replied, sharing that he owned Airedales and West Highland terriers named Bernie and Flavio. "Terriers are tremendously loyal. I'd rather be called a terrier than a wolf."

The exchange follows tensions between Mercedes and Red Bull, sparked by George Russell and Max Verstappen's Qatar Grand Prix incident. Wolff had criticized Horner's leadership style, calling him "weak" in handling his driver.

Horner clarified his previous "hysterics" comment about Russell, explaining it referred to the driver's reaction to his team's tire choice rather than his psychology. "Toto's quite dramatic as we all know," Horner stated, highlighting Red Bull's track record of 122 race wins and 14 world championships.

Regarding concerns about on-track tensions, Horner expressed confidence that the situation wouldn't affect the upcoming race, describing Verstappen as a "straight shooter" who channeled his Qatar frustration into motivation and victory.

"It's pantomime season. We are getting ready for Christmas," Horner concluded, dismissing the drama as end-of-term blues that wouldn't impact the grand prix itself.
