The Sauber Motorsport Technology Center UK will be established in "Motorsport Valley" - the region within 90 minutes of Silverstone that houses most F1 teams and approximately 25,000 industry professionals. Potential locations include Bicester, Milton Keynes, and Silverstone itself, with operations planned to begin in summer 2024.
Currently, Sauber is one of only three F1 teams not headquartered in the UK, alongside Ferrari and RB. This strategic expansion will give the team access to Britain's extensive motorsport talent pool and supplier network.
"We are excited to establish our technical centre in the UK to complement our key site in Hinwil, which will continue to lead our main engineering operations," said Mattia Binotto, Sauber Motorsport COO and CTO. "Our vision is to create a strong, collaborative network across Hinwil and the UK, driving innovation and performance."
The move aligns Sauber with industry trends, as other teams like Haas are also expanding their UK presence. The future Cadillac F1 Team has already established operations at Silverstone, highlighting the region's continued importance in Formula 1 development.
