Seth Bergman Celebrates Career-First ASCS National Championship
Seth Bergman captured his first ASCS National Tour championship in 2024 through consistent performance and strategic partnerships. Despite an early season team change, Bergman's return to his No. 23 car proved successful with a dominant win at Rush County Speedway.
Race winners celebrating with trophy
A pivotal moment came during ASCS Speedweek in June, where Bergman won twice and never finished below second place, securing his first Speedweek championship. Mid-season, he partnered with Sprint Car veteran Kevin Swindell, who provided crucial technical and financial support.
Throughout the summer, Bergman maintained his championship lead against strong competition from Sam Hafertepe Jr. A key victory at Big Sky Speedway in Montana reinforced his position as championship favorite. His remarkable consistency showed in the latter part of the season, finishing off the podium only twice in 12 races between August and October.
Bergman clinched the championship at Creek County Speedway, near his adopted hometown of Owasso, OK. The achievement marked a significant progression from his 16th-place finish in 2009 and runner-up position in 2018.
Key factors in Bergman's championship success included:
- Improved maturity as a driver
- Strong team development
- Strategic partnerships with Oklahoma Chiller and Rider Racing Engines
- Technical support from Kevin Swindell
- Consistent podium finishes throughout the season
Bergman will defend his title beginning at the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, January 30-February 1, 2025.
