
STSS, Fonda & Utica-Rome Celebrate Championship Season at Awards Banquet
The Short Track Super Series (STSS), Fonda Speedway, and Utica-Rome Speedway celebrated their 2024 achievements at the Roselawn Banquet Facility in New York Mills. The prestigious event recognized champions across multiple racing divisions.
Matt Sheppard dominated the STSS Modified category, securing the River Valley Builders North Region title ($15,000) for the fifth consecutive season. Alex Yankowski claimed the NJ Quality Drywall South Region championship ($15,000), while Sheppard also took home the Ollie's Overall championship ($10,000).

In the STSS Sportsman division, Payton Talbot won the Madsen Overhead Doors North Region ($1,500), and Logan Watt secured the Belmont's Garage South Region title.

Michael Maresca emerged victorious in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies Thunder on the Thruway Series Modified championship ($4,000), while Talbot and Gates won the Sportsman and Pro Stock divisions respectively ($1,000 each).

The 2025 season kicks off with the Short Track Super Series at Port Royal Speedway (March 14-15) and Bridgeport Motorsports Park (March 22). Fonda Speedway begins with their Race Car Show (March 21-23), Utica-Rome hosts their first-ever Race Car Show (March 28-30), and Brookfield Speedway starts on May 25 with the 'Fast Cars & Freedom' special.
