The EcoBoost-powered Ford Mustang, piloted by Jessie Ringley, has evolved from a street-legal powerhouse into a record-breaking drag racing machine, achieving an impressive 8.985-second quarter-mile time.

The heart of this beast is a heavily modified 2,300cc EcoBoost engine. EMS enhanced the block with sleeve reinforcement and welding to handle extreme pressures. The built motor features custom Mahle pistons, Wiseco Boostline connecting rods, and a factory crankshaft, achieving a 10:1 compression ratio. Speed Perf6rmanc3-spec ARP head and main studs ensure structural integrity under high boost.

A crucial breakthrough came when the team deactivated the exhaust variable valve timing, resulting in a 100+ wheel horsepower gain. The engine now utilizes custom Piper UK camshafts and BC valvetrain components, complemented by an EMS-spec BMF CNC-ported cylinder head from Max CFM Motorsports.

Power comes from a Precision Turbo and Engineering 6785 Generation 2 turbocharger, featuring a 67.7mm compressor inducer and twin-scroll T4 turbine housing. The setup includes dual 46mm PTE wastegates, a 50mm blow-off valve, and a supporting 50-shot of nitrous oxide. The fuel system combines port and direct injection, using FID 2,200cc/min and prototype Xtreme DI 2,450cc/min injectors, respectively.

Running between 38-50 psi of boost, the EcoBeast produces 940 whp at 8,000 rpm and 696 lb-ft at 6,500 rpm. The chassis features a Rise Fab Shop 8.50 cage, Weld Racing wheels, Mickey Thompson drag tires, and essential safety equipment including Baer Brakes and a parachute.
