Thornton Jr., Davenport & Overton Each Score DIRTcar Nationals Feature Wins
Ricky Thornton Jr., Jonathan Davenport, and Brandon Overton claimed impressive victories during Wednesday night's DIRTcar Late Model Features at Volusia Speedway Park's DIRTcar Nationals. All three drivers added Gator trophies to their collections, with Thornton leading the Big Gator championship chase by 20 points over Davenport and 40 points over Overton.

In Feature 1, Thornton Jr. dominated from the pole position, maintaining a commanding lead throughout the 20-lap race. Despite challenges from Kyle Bronson early on, Thornton secured the win with a 1.4-second margin over Cade Dillard, with Max Blair finishing third.

Feature 2 saw Jonathan Davenport capture his first DIRTcar Nationals golden Gator trophy since 2018. After trailing Ethan Dotson early, Davenport capitalized on lap traffic to take the lead with seven laps remaining. Despite a late caution, he held off Devin Moran and Mike Marlar for the victory.
Sprint car racing dirt track
Brandon Overton secured his first win of 2025 in Feature 3, leading from the pole position. Despite two cautions, Overton maintained control throughout the race, finishing ahead of his brother Cody Overton and Garrett Alberson.
The DIRTcar Nationals continues with three nights of World of Outlaws Late Models competition from Thursday through Saturday, promising more intense dirt track racing action at Volusia Speedway Park.
