Tyler Allen has been promoted to crew chief for Ty Gibbs and the No. 54 team at Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in the NASCAR Cup Series. This promotion follows his successful tenure leading the No. 20 team in the Xfinity Series, where he secured eight victories with multiple drivers in 2024.

Allen's NASCAR experience includes working as a race engineer under Adam Stevens, contributing to Kyle Busch's 2019 championship victory. He replaces Chris Gayle, who moves to Denny Hamlin's No. 11 team, while former Hamlin crew chief Chris Gabehart becomes JGR's competitor director.

In the Xfinity Series, Jason Ratcliff returns to crew chief duties, taking over the No. 54 team to work with Taylor Gray in 2025. Ratcliff transitions from his role as team/driver coordinator for JGR's Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series programs.

Joe Gibbs praised Allen's success at both Cup and Xfinity levels, highlighting the organization's commitment to maintaining talented leadership. The team owner also expressed enthusiasm about Ratcliff's return to the pit box, acknowledging his significant contributions to the organization over the years.

These changes represent JGR's strategic positioning for the 2025 season, leveraging experienced leadership to support both veteran and developing drivers across their NASCAR programs.
