Stoffel Vandoorne will start from the back of the grid in the second Jeddah E-Prix race due to a technical infringement during qualifying. Officials found his fire extinguisher was not armed during the session, leading to his disqualification from qualifying results.

The Maserati MSG driver had originally qualified third, alongside teammate Jake Hughes. The disqualification means Vandoorne will start 22nd, behind Nico Mueller who received a three-place penalty for causing a collision with Antonio Felix da Costa in Friday's race.

The grid changes result in:

  • Hughes moving up to third
  • da Costa advancing to fourth
  • Edoardo Mortara taking fifth
  • Friday's winner Maximilian Guenther starting sixth
  • Sam Bird in seventh
  • Nyck de Vries claiming eighth position

The penalty marks a significant setback for Vandoorne, who had shown strong pace during qualifying and was set to start from the second row before the technical infringement was discovered.
