Wayne Taylor Reveals Why Racing Team Split from Andretti Partnership
Wayne Taylor Racing's two-year partnership with Andretti Global has concluded, but the team remains part of Dan Towriss' TWG Motorsports group. Taylor described the collaboration with Michael Andretti as positive but noted limited integration due to Andretti's other commitments in Formula 1 and IndyCar.

TWG Motorsports, overseen by Towriss, maintains ownership stakes in WTR, Andretti Global, and Spire Motorsports, while also partnering with General Motors for the upcoming Cadillac Formula 1 team in 2026. The organization is part of TWG Global, managed by Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Walter.
Taylor emphasized there was no ill will between him and Andretti, explaining that the separation allows WTR to focus on the Cadillac LMDh program and Formula 1 initiatives. The team will continue operating from their Brownsburg, Indiana headquarters rather than relocating to Andretti Global's new Fishers facility.
This arrangement simplifies WTR's transition from Honda/Acura back to Cadillac and GM. Taylor expressed satisfaction with the current setup, noting that maintaining their existing workshop while managing the manufacturer switch is more practical than attempting a facility relocation simultaneously.
"It just made more sense to keep us where we are," Taylor stated, highlighting the logistical benefits of maintaining their established base during the transition.
