Yankowski and Perrego Bounce Back Strong After Port Royal Setbacks
Alex Yankowski bounced back from a disappointing engine failure at Port Royal with a strong fourth-place finish at Bridgeport Motorsports Park. Starting from 14th position, Yankowski skillfully worked his way through the field, though tire management proved challenging in the latter stages of the race.
"We used up our stuff coming through the pack," Yankowski explained. "Starting 14th makes it much tougher - you have to know when to push and when to hold back."

The previous week's engine failure was attributed to a rod bearing issue. The team is now working with Sy-Murray Motors to evaluate different rod manufacturers after what appears to be a problematic batch of parts.
Anthony Perrego also recovered from a challenging Port Royal weekend, where his team went through two engines. Using a borrowed Wegner Weekend Warrior motor from Carey Terrance, Perrego drove from 24th to finish fifth in the 60-lap Doug Hoffman Memorial.
"After last weekend, we'll take a top five after starting that far back," Perrego said. "The track was different than last year - slippery but with some grip. We weren't great early, but staying out of trouble got us into the top ten."
Perrego's strategic driving helped him avoid several incidents, including a multi-car tangle involving Godown and careful navigation around Danny Bouc. The late-race single-file restarts made passing more challenging, but the fifth-place finish provided momentum heading into the Super DIRTcar Series opener at New Egypt Speedway, where Perrego is the defending race winner.
