This victory adds to Quintero's Stage 1 win, which he earned after receiving time credit for stopping to assist a crashed competitor. Despite these successes, Quintero currently sits ninth overall, one and a half hours behind the leader due to delays in previous stages.
In the general rankings, Al Attiyah's penalty minimized his gains, leaving him in fourth place. Yazeed Al Rajhi follows leader Henk Lategan by 10m17s, with Mattias Ekstrom 20m54s behind.
The Challenger class saw American Corbin Leaverton's podium hopes diminish after mechanical issues at the 172km mark. Nicolas Cavigliasso now leads by 28m34s over Gonçalo Guerreiro, with Paul Spierings in third.
In SSV, Sara Price's strong run ended with mechanical failure 45km from the finish. Chaleco Lopez claimed the stage win, leading Brock Heger and Xavier de Soultrait by 20 minutes. Price maintains her overall lead by 1h21m30s.
The motorcycle category saw Luciano Benavides triumph as Adrien Van Beveren lost his victory due to a speeding penalty. Daniel Sanders leads the overall standings by 6m52s over Tosha Schareina and 17m38s over Ross Branch, with Americans Skyler Howes and Ricky Brabec in fourth and fifth, approximately 20 minutes behind.
