Genesis factory driver Andre Lotterer will compete in the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours with IDEC Sport's LMP2 team as part of Genesis' Hypercar preparation program. The three-time Le Mans winner replaces Dani Juncadella, who is committed to the FIA WEC season with TF Sport Corvette.

Lotterer joins Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert in the lineup, filling the seat originally intended for Logan Sargeant, who recently stepped back from racing. This opportunity allows Lotterer to maintain his competitive edge while contributing his extensive experience to the young team.

"Racing at Le Mans is always special, and this experience will help me stay sharp for the rest of the season," said Lotterer, who was confirmed as a Genesis Magma Racing Hypercar driver alongside Pipo Derani last year.

Meanwhile, Juncadella will participate in the full European Le Mans Series (ELMS) with IDEC Sport and Genesis, complementing his WEC LMGT3 program with TF Sport. This arrangement allows Genesis to evaluate his prototype racing capabilities ahead of their 2026 season driver lineup decisions.

Cyril Abiteboul, Hyundai Motorsport president, praised Juncadella as "a perfect fit" for their 'Trajectory' program, which aims to develop drivers without prior Hypercar experience. Lotterer will undergo testing with IDEC/Genesis Magma Racing before Le Mans, while the ELMS season begins April 6 in Barcelona.
