BMW Outpaces Competition in Daytona Roar Testing Session

BMW M Team RLL dominated the second Roar Before The 24 session at Daytona, with Dries Vanthoor setting the fastest time of 1m35.424s in the No. 24 M Hybrid V8. This performance surpassed Meyer Shank Racing's morning session lead by over 0.4 seconds.

Nick Yelolly placed the No. 93 Acura MSR ARX-06 in second position with a time of 1m35.619s, just 0.2 seconds behind the leader.

Lamborghini's SC63, after completing only five laps in the morning due to IT issues, bounced back strongly with 46 laps and secured third place. Romain Grosjean posted a time of 1m36.041s.

The No. 25 RLL BMW and No. 60 Acura MSR ARX-06 rounded out the top five. A notable incident occurred when Felipe Nasr's No. 7 Porsche Penske 963 stopped on track due to a high-voltage alarm.

In LMP2, TDS Racing's ORECA led with Mikkel Jensen's 1m39.047s, narrowly beating Inter Europol Competition's ORECA by 0.083 seconds. The Crowdstrike Racing by APR maintained the day's fastest P2 time of 1m38.673s from the morning session.

GTD class saw the No. 77 AO Racing Porsche top the timing sheets with Laurin Heinrich's 1m47.775s, followed by the Pfaff Lamborghini. The No. 32 Korthoff Competition Mercedes led the GTD category with the third-fastest overall time of 1m48.237s.

Testing continues Saturday at 11:15 am for WeatherTech teams.
