BMW Unveils Special 50th Anniversary Livery for Sebring 12 Hours Race
BMW M Motorsport has unveiled a commemorative livery for their M Hybrid V8 race car, marking 50 years of BMW North America's presence. The design debuts at the upcoming Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring race.

The special livery celebrates BMW's rich American motorsport heritage, starting with their first major victory at the 1975 12 Hours of Sebring. That historic win, achieved by drivers Brian Redman, Hans Joachim-Stuck, Sam Posey, and Allan Moffat in a BMW 3.0 CSL, came shortly after BMW North America's establishment.
Notable achievements highlighted in the design include:
- 1999: Overall victory at Sebring with the V12 LMR
- 2001: E46 BMW M3 GTR's dominance in ALMS GT class
- 2011-2012: Back-to-back Sebring class wins with the E90 M3 GT2
- 2023: Paul Miller Racing's GTD class victory with M4 GT3
- 2023: M Hybrid V8's first IMSA GTP podium
- 2024: Team RLL's 1-2 finish at Indianapolis with M Hybrid V8s
This commemorative design represents BMW's continuous success in American motorsport, from their initial triumph at Sebring to their recent achievements in modern racing categories.
