Cadillac Tops Second Qatar WEC Practice with Lynn's Fastest Lap
Alex Lynn led the second Free Practice session of the FIA WEC season opener at Qatar's Lusail International Circuit, putting Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA's No. 12 V-Series.R on top with a time of 1m39.601s.

Ferrari's Antonio Fuoco claimed second place in the No. 50 499P with a 1m39.906s, while Robin Frijns placed the No. 20 BMW Team WRT M Hybrid V8 third, less than half a second behind Lynn. The No. 38 JOTA Cadillac and No. 51 Ferrari 499P rounded out the top five.
The Aston Martin THOR Team Valkyries showed improvement after earlier issues, with the No. 007 and No. 009 completing 43 and 39 laps respectively. Driver Marco Sorensen acknowledged the learning curve, stating, "We had small issues that made FP1 not go the smoothest, but we are still learning."
In LMGT3, United Autosports' No. 95 McLaren GT3 Evo topped the class with Sean Gelael's 1m54.557s lap. The AKKODIS ASP Lexus RC F GT3s secured second and third positions, followed by Vista AF Corse Ferraris in fourth and fifth.
Iron Lynx Mercedes recovered from fuel docking issues that prevented their FP1 participation, completing nearly 50 combined laps in FP2. The session concluded without major incidents.
Free Practice 3 is scheduled for Thursday at 12:00pm local time.
