In Top Fuel, Shawn Reed claimed victory with a 3.699s run at 330.39mph against Josh Hart's 3.724s at 321.27mph. Troy Coughlin Jr. emerged victorious in Pro Stock, beating Cory Reed.
The event marked a significant moment for John Force Racing, despite Prock's runner-up finish. Team founder John Force made his first public appearance since suffering a traumatic brain injury at Richmond last June. Force expressed enthusiasm about returning to the racing environment, stating, "Being here in Bradenton was just good for my heart."
Notably, Prock had set a record during qualifying with a 3.791s run, though he couldn't convert that performance into a final round victory.
The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season opener is scheduled for March 7-9 at Gainesville.
