The Spanish driver, who joins Williams for the 2025 season, was released by Ferrari to participate in the upcoming Pirelli tire test. During the filming day, Sainz piloted the FW46 using demonstration Pirelli tires, wearing a plain white helmet and his signature number 55.
The session allowed Sainz to familiarize himself with Williams procedures, check his seat fit, and adjust pedal positions. He completed several laps and practiced starts in the late afternoon.
The Pirelli tire test scheduled for Tuesday will feature several drivers testing with their 2025 teams:
- Kimi Antonelli - Mercedes
- Esteban Ocon - Haas
- Jack Doohan - Alpine
- Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto - Stake
Williams also announced a new partnership with Spanish banking giant Santander, who will continue their support of Sainz in his transition from Ferrari.
