Coyne and RLL Complete Final IndyCar Test of 2024 at Laguna Seca
The final IndyCar testing session of 2024 concluded at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, featuring Dale Coyne Racing's Toby Sowery and RLL Racing's Louis Foster.
Foster, the Indy NXT champion, posted the fastest unofficial time of 1m10.198s in the No. 45 RLL Honda on his 85th lap. Sowery completed an impressive 130 laps, with his best time of 1m10.409s coming on lap 104.
The test was particularly significant for Sowery, who made up for lost time after experiencing mechanical issues during November's test at The Thermal Club. "We ticked a lot of boxes and learned quite a lot with the things we threw at the car," Sowery told RACER.
Having made three starts for Coyne in 2024 at Mid-Ohio, Toronto, and Portland - with a best finish of 13th - Sowery is working to secure full-time funding for the upcoming season. The 28-year-old British driver emphasized the value of these testing opportunities and his growing relationship with the team.
"There's two sides to the sport: the driving and the business side," Sowery noted, acknowledging ongoing efforts to secure a full-time position while expressing gratitude for the testing opportunities provided by Dale Coyne Racing.
